Gabriel Wheldon came to New England in about 1620. He is believed to have married the daughter of chief Massasoit's younger brother. She later became known as Margaret. They had four known children and lived in Mattacheese. Teague Jones is first mentioned in the records of Yarmouth in 1645. He is also believed to have married a Native American woman. .
