Jim Miller created a virtual notebook, archiving my research into the American Civil War. The blog focuses on Iowa and her soldiers and their regiments, and the battles of Forts Henry and Donelson, and Shiloh/Battles of Stones River, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Franklin and Nashville. The bulk of this blog contains transcriptions from newspapers of the Civil War era, as well as biographical sketches of the war’s participants, letters, diaries, battlefield photographs, and grave stones of Civil War soldiers.
